011. Definitions
  • “karn.la” refers to the job portal website, mobile-enabled pages, and all recruitment services provided therein.
  • “User” refers to any individual or entity using the platform, including Job Seekers and Employers.
  • “Employer” refers to companies, recruiters, or individuals posting job listings or searching for candidates.
  • “Job Seeker” refers to individuals searching for employment, uploading resumes, or applying for jobs.
  • “Platform Services” refers to the advertising, matching, and information services provided by karn.la, which do not by themselves constitute a licensed private employment service under Lao law unless karn.la is separately registered as such.
022. User Obligations

Users are required to act with integrity and professionalism while using the platform:

  • Accuracy: Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and in all content posted (CVs, job descriptions, etc.).
  • Compliance: Employers must ensure that job postings comply with all applicable labor laws and regulations in Laos, including the Labor Law (2014 amendment) and its prohibition on discriminatory hiring criteria based on gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, or other legally protected grounds, and must hold any license or registration required to recruit or place candidates, such as under the 2024 Regulation of the Lao Employment Business Association, where applicable.
  • Prohibitions: Job seekers must not submit false credentials, impersonate others, or apply for jobs fraudulently.
  • Illegal Activity: Users must not engage in any illegal activities, including but not limited to hacking, spamming, or uploading malicious code, in violation of the Law on Cybersecurity (2025) or other applicable law; karn.la may report such violations to the Department of Cybersecurity (MTC) / LaoCERT.
033. Job Postings and Applications

Employer Responsibility: Employers are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the job listings they post, including ensuring postings do not contain discriminatory requirements prohibited under the Labor Law, and for verifying their own compliance with any recruitment licensing requirements where applicable. karn.la does not guarantee the quality or safety of the jobs advertised.

Platform Role: karn.la is an advertising and information-matching platform. Unless separately registered as a private employment service provider, karn.la does not itself act as an employment agency.

Job Seeker Acknowledgment: Job seekers acknowledge that applying for a job does not guarantee an interview or employment.

Third-Party Agreements: karn.la is a platform to connect parties. We are not a party to any employment contract or agreement made between employers and job seekers.

044. Payment and Subscription

Certain services on karn.la (such as featured job postings or resume database access) may require payment.

  • Refunds: Payments are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required under the Law on Consumer Protection (2010) or the Decree on Electronic Commerce (2021) — for example, where the service was not delivered, was materially misrepresented, or was affected by a billing error or fraud. Refund requests on these grounds should be submitted in writing.
  • Pricing Transparency: Prices, subscription tiers, and payment terms will be clearly displayed before purchase, in accordance with applicable consumer-protection requirements.
  • Modifications: karn.la reserves the right to modify pricing, subscription tiers, and payment terms at any time with prior notice.
055. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

  • Legal Basis: Personal data is processed in accordance with the Law on Electronic Data Protection (2017) and its 2018 Implementing Instructions, including the classification of data into General, Sensitive, and Prohibited categories as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
  • Sharing: karn.la will not share personal data without user consent, except as required by law or to provide the Platform Services.
066. Limitation of Liability

karn.la is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, karn.la shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the platform. We do not guarantee the accuracy of job postings or user-generated content.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of the Lao PDR, including the Civil Code (2018) and the Law on Consumer Protection (2010).

077. Account Termination

karn.la reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in behavior detrimental to the community. Users may delete their accounts at any time via their account settings. Where reasonably practicable, karn.la will notify affected users of the reason for suspension or termination, except where notice would compromise a security or legal investigation.

088. Intellectual Property

All content on karn.la, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of MITTAPHAB INFINITY CONCIERGE SOLE CO., LTD. and is protected under the Law on Intellectual Property (2023 amendment), which extends copyright protection to electronic and digital works. Users may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without prior written permission.
